Size and configuration
Single, paired, triple, fixed-and-operating, factory-mulled, custom, and oversize units use different frames, glass areas, structural members, and handling.
2026 Crank-out window planner
Estimate installed casement window cost for 1 to 50 openings. Casement style is preselected; adjust frame, glass, installation scope, access, repairs, extras, and market to match the project you are comparing.

Quote comparison
Normalize a contractor proposal that includes casements. Enter the total quote, total window count, casement count, dimensions, scope, access, repair, glass, included fees, split lines, and any rebate claim to compare the casement portion against the same installed-cost model.
Actual quote intake
Enter the total proposal and how many casements are inside it. The checker matches the casement portion to the same installed-cost model used above, then lists the spec gaps to ask the next bidder.
Casement quote result
Enter the quote total, total window count, casement count, and known specs, then run Check quote. If dimensions are blank, the checker uses a standard-size assumption and marks dimensions as missing.
Installed planning ranges
Casement units compress against weather seals when locked and can provide a clear opening, but the sash, operator, hinges, locks, screen, dimensions, and complete installation scope all affect price.
| Frame | Installed range | Major variables |
|---|---|---|
| Vinyl casement | $589–$2,993 | Dimensions, glass, product tier, hardware, scope, and repairs |
| Wood casement | $833–$3,220 | Species or cladding, finish, hardware, custom sizing, glass, and trim |
Planning data and adjustments are documented in the calculator methodology and downloadable 2026 source table. These are budgeting ranges, not bids.
Price variants
Use these as scope labels when comparing bids. A low price for a simple vinyl casement is not comparable with a tall wood unit, a mulled pair, impact glass, or a project that changes the opening.
| Quote condition | What to verify | Why it moves price |
|---|---|---|
| Standard vinyl casement | Stock size, double-pane glass, insert or straightforward full-frame install | Lower material and handling complexity |
| Wood or clad casement | Species, cladding, finish, hardware, interior trim, exterior color | Higher product cost and more finish labor |
| Large or mulled casement | Factory-mulled units, structural support, safety glass, delivery limits | More glass area, framing, labor, and risk |
| Altered opening | Framing, siding or stucco repair, flashing, permits, bedroom egress checks | The wall work can exceed the window-unit premium |
Where the quote changes
Single, paired, triple, fixed-and-operating, factory-mulled, custom, and oversize units use different frames, glass areas, structural members, and handling.
Crank mechanisms, multipoint locks, hinges, limit devices, screens, and hardware finishes vary by product series and replacement-parts availability.
Vinyl, fiberglass, composite, aluminum, or clad wood plus Low-E, triple-pane, impact, privacy, or safety glass can move otherwise similar quotes apart.
Insert work preserves a sound frame. Full-frame removal adds opening inspection, flashing, insulation, exterior finish, interior trim, and repair exposure.
Quote comparison
Homeowner quote discussions repeatedly show large gaps between product tiers, direct-sales brands, local installers, insert work, full-frame work, and projects with several factory-mulled casements. Require written dimensions and model information so each bidder prices the same result.
If the current window is in a bedroom, confirm that the replacement's clear opening, opening height, and operation meet locally applicable emergency-escape rules. A nominal frame size alone does not establish compliance.
Before signing
Plain answers
The calculator starts from installed planning ranges of approximately $589 to $2,993 for vinyl casement windows and $833 to $3,220 for wood before project adjustments. Quantity, dimensions, frame, glass, full-frame versus insert work, access, repairs, local labor, and product tier can move a quote outside those ranges.
They can be. Casement windows use a hinged sash, crank operator, locking hardware, hinges, and weather seals that differ from a double-hung assembly. Size, frame, glass, product series, installation scope, and mulled configurations matter more than style alone, so compare otherwise equivalent specifications.
A failed operator, handle, lock, hinge, or weather seal may be repairable when the frame, sash, insulated glass, flashing, and opening remain sound. Complete replacement becomes more reasonable when parts are unavailable, the sash or frame is distorted, glass seals have failed, water is entering, or the installation itself needs correction.
Ask for unit dimensions, handing, frame and glass package, hardware finish, screen, performance ratings, installation method, flashing, insulation, trim, disposal, repair allowances, and product and labor warranties. For a bedroom, also verify the proposed unit meets applicable emergency-escape requirements.
