Calculator methodology
Replacement Window Cost Calculator is an independent early-budgeting tool. It does not sell leads, rank contractors, or provide a binding quote.
Reference ranges
The baseline uses publicly available full-service installed price ranges for common vinyl and wood window styles. Those ranges include substantial variation because window dimensions, product series, labor, permits, taxes, and local conditions differ.
Adjustments
The model applies visible multipliers for frame material, installation scope, glass package, access, and market cost. Repair and trim selections are added per opening. The low, typical, and high results are rounded to the nearest $50 so the output does not imply false precision.

Limitations
No browser calculator can see concealed rot, flashing failures, lead paint, structural changes, historic-district rules, access restrictions, custom sizing, or contractor workload. Use the result to establish a budget and compare at least three itemized on-site quotes.
