Quick cost answer
A torn mesh job, a bent frame, and a sliding patio door screen are not the same quote. Use the calculator above to keep the mesh, service call, and frame work visible.
| Scope | Typical early range | Main cost drivers |
|---|---|---|
| DIY rescreen | $20-$45 minimum | Mesh roll, spline, roller tool, waste from cuts |
| Shop rescreen | $35-$75+ each | Screen size, mesh, spline, small hardware, local shop minimums |
| Mobile pro | $135-$260+ minimum | Trip charge, count, access, on-site setup, mesh and frame condition |
| New screen frame | $40-$250+ each | Window versus door size, frame color, corners, tabs, rollers, handle |
Ranges are planning estimates synthesized from common U.S. screen repair pricing patterns. Use written local quotes for ordering and warranty decisions.
Quote scope
Name fiberglass, aluminum, pet-resistant, solar, or no-see-um mesh. The cheapest quote may be using a different cloth.
Ask whether spline, pull tabs, corner keys, lift tabs, springs, handles, and sliding-door rollers are included.
DIY materials, a shop drop-off, and a mobile pro visit have different minimums. Count matters more when a trip charge is involved.
If broken glass, failed seals, rot, or sash problems are also present, compare with the glass replacement estimator or main window calculator.

A simple rescreen can be a small materials job when the frame is reusable, while shop or mobile service costs more because labor, minimum charges, and travel are included. Mesh upgrades, large openings, sliding screen doors, bent frames, missing frames, and damaged hardware raise the range.
Repair is usually the first comparison when the frame is square and reusable. Replacement becomes more competitive when the frame is bent, corroded, missing, or needs enough corner, spline, tab, roller, or rail work that the repair approaches the cost of a new screen.
Usually, yes. A sliding screen door uses more mesh area, a larger frame, rollers, handle hardware, and more adjustment labor than a standard window screen.
Fiberglass is the common budget mesh. Aluminum is stiffer. Pet-resistant, solar, and no-see-um mesh usually cost more and should be named on the quote so bids are comparable.
